Kim Scafuro grew up outside of Philadelphia with a Corgi, 2 sisters and her parents. She has always been interested in drawing, painting, eating and jokes. To pursue these interests, she moved to Brooklyn where she graduated from Pratt Institute with a BFA in Illustration and burrito making, in 2006. She now lives with her cats Ham and Dexter, hedgehog Chip, assistant Cody and she continues to draw, paint, eat and make jokes. Kim has done work for The New York Times, The New York Press, Esquire Russia, The Portland Mercury, Honolulu Magazine, Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities, Good Magazine, Chronogram Magazine, Bust Magazine, Baltimore Magazine,The Stranger, The Village Voice, Sojourners Magazine, The Real Deal Magazine, Revenue Magazine, The L Magazine, Heeb, Sang A Handbags and Faesthetic. Her work has been recognized by the Society Of Ilustrators Los Angeles, American Illustration 27, The Society of Illustrators Scholarship Show and the Graphis New Talent Annual 2007.
